Damarli Estate

The Damarli Estate was acquired in 1995 by David Pech and his family. It was named after the family: DA- for David, MA – for Manfred (David’s father), R – for Ruth (David’s mother) and LI – for Lia (David’s wife). It is 18 hectares large of which 11 hectares are coffee and 7 hectares are natural reserve. We grow various coffee varietals including the famous Panama Geisha and have won the national Best of Panama coffee competition with our Pacamara and Bourbon coffee varietals.

100hr fermentation

It is located at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,500 meters – close to the Baru Volcano – with one of the driest microclimates of Boquete, Panama. Farm grows various coffee varietals such as Panama Geisha, Pacamara and Bourbon but also have orange, banana, plantain and papaya trees. During the dry season, the weather is relatively stable and sunny but during the rainy season, the weather changes quickly, and clouds, fog and rain can come in.

Variety

One of the most culturally and genetically important C. arabica varieties in the world, known for excellent quality in the cup at the highest altitudes. Bourbon is valued for its complex acidity and wonderful balance. It often has a sweet quality and nice and crisp acidity but can present quite distinct flavours depending on where it is planted.

Natural

Natural sundried, also called “natural process” or “dry process,” means drying coffee cherries whole without the intervention of water or machines to remove any of the fruit. Prior to drying, the cherries are picked, floated in water, and sorted to remove any under-ripe or overripe fruit.
